Airbnb Press Room Sports Feature

I had the pleasure and honor to be approached by my friends at Airbnb (San Francisco) to design and animate for their press room article. I was tasked with coming up with ideas and solutions to convey how the guests and hosts on Airbnb connect with sports through travel and hosting.

In addition, both illustration and animation have to support the idea of how Airbnb hosts can help sports fans all over the world experience sporting events in a more authentic and accessible way. Vibrant colors and character in relatable situations were used to create a mood that feel fun, energetic, vibrant and exciting.

Concept

Airbnb supports atheletic competition and sports fans in their community. Through Airbnb, it enables sports fans who are from faraway locations attend a sports meet they are passionate about to support their favorite team.

Through traveling and hostings, Airbnb brings people from different locations together as guests and hosts can connect on their same passion for sports.

To convey the message that Airbnb wants to share, character based storytelling was used to make it more relatable to the viewers/readers as we follow the character’s journey to attend a sports meet.
