The Ask
Google Fi wanted to help prospective switchers understand and feel excited about what Fi phone plans have to offer, to increase their consideration for making the switch. So we were called on to develop six educational videos explaining the features and benefits of Fi phone plans in a fun and ownable way.
Our Approach
We built upon Google's existing design language to expand into an inviting, playful world laden with visual metaphors. Our illustrators upped the whimsy with exaggerated proportions between humans and the objects around them—both the surrounding natural environment and the phones themselves are larger-than-life. We used animation to heighten the playful geometries of the characters, as they walk, hop, skip, and climb their way through the narratives.
Privacy & Security
The final video in the series required us to tackle sensitive privacy and security topics. To clearly depict the product’s capabilities, and give audiences peace of mind when it came to the level of protection Fi provides, we layered the product UI into this world.
Results/The Impact
Google Fi shared the final videos through YouTube, email, and social channels.
